Gaby FeBland is a puppeteer, playwright, and illustrator born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She is the co-founder of Foreshadow, an experimental shadow puppetry company that has performed at Lincoln Center, the La MaMa Puppet Festival, the Carnegie Hall Weimar Festival, Green-Wood Cemetery, and the Puppet Showplace Theater (Brookline, MA).
Her multidisciplinary rat epic, The Undercity, was developed and workshopped through a 2024 Emergence Artist Residency at Culture Lab LIC. Cat, her deconstruction of a certain maligned Andrew Lloyd Webber musical, was workshopped at Rattlestick Theater in July, 2025. Both projects were directed by Sammy Zeisel.
Gaby has designed puppets for Gooey’s Toxic Aquatic Adventure (Bushwick Starr, dir. Sammy Zeisel), It Can Happen Here (New Perspectives, dir. Katrine Hilbe), and GUNDOG (Silencio Theatre Projects, dir. Michael Rogerson), as well as for the short film Choronzon.
Recent stage credits include Cumulo (MITU580), The New York Nutcracker (Lincoln Center Spotlight Series), Cat (Rattlestick Theater), and Mia M.I.A. (La MaMa).
Upcoming projects include The Undercity (2026 Production Grant Recipient, The Jim Henson Foundation) at the La MaMa Puppet Festival in November 2026 & Devour the Moon, a collaboration with Foreshadow and Gamelan Dharma Swara, in December 2026. You can find her paper-maché monstrosities annually at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade.
Gaby attended Northwestern University, where she majored in Theatre Arts and Spanish. She holds a Graphic Design Certificate from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
